Please note that this is a refurbished model with very minor signs of use. However it has had only around 120 hours of use so it is practically brand new and has plenty of bulb life left. Unfortunately the front support leg was taken out as it was ceiling mounted, this cannot now be found and it not included. Also comes with a FREE Dell carry case worth £50!
A projector is a great way to impress clients with your big presentation. But it spoils the effect if you have to set up a noisy, clunky beast that's so big it requires its own jeep.

Dell's 3400MP projector is for those who believe projectors should be neither seen nor heard. It is ridiculously small — at 204 x 154mm it's barely bigger than a school lunch box — and it weighs a mere 1.09 kg. It's also noticeably quieter than your average data projector. Even when packed inside the supplied carry case with its external power supply, it's still smaller and lighter than many data projectors and will turn heads when you open it in front of clients.

An XGA (1024 x 768) DLP projector, the 3400MP has 1500 ANSI lumens max brightness and 2100:1 contrast. It is NTSC, PAL and SECAM compatible and can handle 576p, 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i high-definition signals. Shedding kilos often means shedding features, but the 3400MP has most standard requirements, such as M1-DA, S-Video and composite video inputs. With manual zoom and focus, it can throw a screen size up to 6.2 metres. The single one-watt speaker is enough for a few special effects to liven up a presentation but little else. Automatic vertical keystone correction is a nice touch, allowing for picture distortion if the projector is up to 16 degrees off a vertical right angle with the wall.

The small infra-red remote control is functional, sporting a laser pointer, directional pad for mouse control and buttons for left and right mouse click. A few advanced features are lacking, such as the ability to connect wirelessly to a computer, but that's understandable in this price range. As with the InFocus' X3 DLP projector we looked at recently, the 3400MP has problems with the "rainbow effect", which means when you move your eyes you sometimes see parts of the image momentarily blur into red, blue and green. If you spend your days lugging around a projector, the 3400MP won't break your back or your wallet.
Dell's 3400MP projector retails for around £1000

A great price for a ultraportable projector. It offers solid image quality but isn't the brightest around. However, it's quiet, offers low running costs
